Ilia Belorukov and Sergey Kostyrko deal with drum-machines patterns distorting their sound and mixing with the sound of modular synthesizer. The improvisation character of their music is in a good relation with the generative video projections; the randomness of video elements supplements unpredictable nature of sound and vice versa. These relationships are particularly interested the artists. How does the perception of audience evolve when he/she drew attention to video projections listening to music for background? What does it change if he/she focuses on auditory side of installation with the eyes closed. And, finally, how one phenomena can get along with another?
Илья Белоруков и Сергей Костырко работают с паттернами драм-машин, искажая их звук и смешивая со звуком модулярного синтезатора. Импровизационное начало их музыки родственно генеративному видео-ряду; случайности на видео дополняют непредсказуемость звука и наоборот. Эти взаимоотношения и интересуют художников в первую очередь. Как будет меняться восприятие зрителя, когда он обращает внимание на видео, слушая музыку фоном или вовсе заткнув уши? Что изменится в мыслях зрителя, если он сконцентрируется на аудиальной стороне инсталляции, закрыв глаза? И, наконец, насколько одно явление может уживаться с другим?
